This exceptionally rare 1965 Breguet Diver with alarm is 1 of just 2 examples known. The exciting sporty design, an unusual rarity for Breguet in the period, features a 4 part stainless steel water resistant case with a two part caseback with screw down ring with gasket . The 11 1/2 lignes calibre 1475 AS movement is suspended for anti-shock protection as denoted by the beautiful dial, further adding to the watches sporty nature. The central seconds design and large indices provide excellent legibility whilst the second crown is used to set the golden serpentine hand to the quarters of the hour to set a soonerie alarm. Once the alarm is triggered hammers hit a gong in the form of a resonant tube affixed to the interior of the caseback, creating both a resonant tone and vibration to one’s wrist. This design can be seen carried to the modern collection in the Breguet Marine.
This tantalisingly rare piece is available now in the collection, complete with the Certificate of Authenticity from Breguet, the brands equivalent of the Extract from the Archives, handwritten by Mr Emmanuel Breguet Jr.
