This incredibly rare pink on pink 1940’s Patek Philippe ref.1519R features not only one of the most one of the most beautiful form shaped square cases of the era, it also features one of the most mesmerising two tone dial designs from Stern Frères going.
Swipe to see the video, as although the watch is stunning photos, even they don’t quite do it justice. This is because depending on the direction one looks at the dial and the light, the central satin opalin circular area of the dial and surrounding periphery, alternate between light and dark rose gold, dancing in the light in the most captivating way! The mix of the engraved enamel batons and numerals, with the applied rose gold dot markers further accentuates the circular two tone design of the dial. There is a playfulness in the design of the watch that continues in the geometric nature of the Markowski case, in which the crisp square case is paired with sculpturally curved hooded and stepped lugs. The use of the various finishes deployed throughout the case, such as the fine satin brushed curves of the lugs being in contrast to the mirror sides, helps to further underscore the shapes of the case and gorgeous convex crystal is the cherry on the top.
Only a small handful of this incredibly rare reference are known in rose gold and only a couple are known with this beautiful two tone pink dial design.
