A very rare and beautiful 1943 ref.96R in 18k pink gold with a superb pink dial with long signature. This superb original example with its pink on pink configuration is a very rare find, seldom few examples have appeared to the market and to find one in such fine condition is very special.
The untouched case is marvellous, it is one of the finest examples of the reference, with it’s original proportions and finishes preserved and hallmarks perfectly in place. The two original Swiss helvetia hallmarks still remain due to the great condition of the case, one to the side case by the crown and a second to the back of one of the lugs.
To the caseback, this very rare example also features the rare import marks for Lisbon, Portugal; used between 1938-1984. Portuguese hallmarked Patek's are considered extremely rare and collectible, typically the national hallmark, the eagle mark is seen. Only a handful of Patek Philippe watches with the specific Lisbon region mark are known to the market and this is the only pink 96 known with this interesting characteristic
All the hallmarks have been perfectly preserved as the case is in such fine, unpolished condition. The movement is in spectacular condition, the level of finishing and condition are superb. The pink dial is beautiful, the pearling and lacquer are excellent, the hour markers and hands have garnered a lovely warm hue with the passage of time. The watch is lovely overall condition, and is a great example of a very rare piece.
The piece comes with a brand new 2021 Extract from the Archives document from Patek Philippe confirming all the details of the watch. The piece is keeping great time and is ready to be worn and enjoyed and comes with 12-months warranty.
