This extremely rare, large Patek Philippe Calatrava ref.2544J features the most attractive stepped scalloped lugs which immediately make this reference stand out from the crowd, and in the case of this example, they are super sharp! (Please excuse the pun!) The large but slim 3 part case has an elegant form and sits with great presence on the wrist, this excellent condition case has both hallmarks crisply preserved and even the mineral crystal is beautiful, seamlessly following the arc of the sharp bezel.
The original bombé Stern dial is just as captivating, with its engraved enamelled inscriptions and highly attractive two tone engraved semi circle design, made in the same manner as those seen under the moon phase on a ref.2499 for example. The applied gold Arabic numerals provide a balanced feel whilst the lapped spear head markers pair perfectly with those special lugs.
